Black moor resurection?

My black moor that is about 2 inches just randomly was swimming around as he usually does a few days ago, then that tornado hit (in north carolina) and he got stuck to the filter. He was surely a goner until this morning, when i woke up, i found him swimming around like nothing happened. He was floating and sinking yesterday! What happened?
