Growling - a helpful warning or worth being punished?

some one gave what i consider to be a very valid point, by punishing a dog for growling you will have no warning that a dog feels threatened enough to bite. personally your dog gave a warning she wasnt feeling comfortable similar to complaining really, but then your dog came out wanting to be friends. to me it sounds like you have a really nice dog and nothing to worry about
