How do I get toenails out of jam?

I was canning some home made strawberry jam and needed all the jars I had. One jar stored my wife's toenail clippings (I kept them because they look cute). I threw them away but I guess I didn't do it properly because I was spreading some jam on my toast today and I saw a clipping on it. Will it harm me?
