Astrophysics..................…

I want to learn the way universe works and understand that and study it. Obviously you need maths. Im in lvl 1 maths which is the 2nd highest level in the school. I am managing quite well and I am very good at trigonometry and find algebra easy ( although my test scores don't always agree). I am trying to be the best at maths as I can and the only thing I can imagine doing is astrophysics or theoretical astro physics. I will do physics and maths methods in college ( which is below high level maths). For those who have this occupation did you have trouble In maths? What can I do to become better? Have any advice?
